Houston’s East End has a new coffee spot and you’re going to love this little setup. Nestled in a tight little Bungalow on Navigation Blvd and named in honor of the founder’s mother, aka “Mama Bear”, OSO will be where you’ll want to be every day.
We’re Scheduled to open Fall / Winter 2021, and our new Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign provides a way for friends, family, and the community to help us get there sooner than later.

OSO is located in the little Bungalow next to Dona Maria’s and catty corner from Ninfa’s Restaurant on the North side of Navigation
“OSO” is the spanish word for “bear”, or in our case “mama bear”. As a young pre-teen my mother was left to take care of her younger sisters and brothers after their mother left them with an aunt, and as a result she was given the nickname Oso. This nickname has stuck her entire life and as a young kid I remember hearing her sisters refer to her as Oso.
This coffee shop is dedicated to my mom and the pillar that she’s been to the family. To this day she is revered as the “mama bear” and we will do the best that we can to honor her through everything we do through this shop. To Maria Yolanda Garcia, thank you for being the best mom, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend in the whole world. – Hector Garcia / OSO founder & son.
Photo of Maria coming soon.
“We’re taking a small house that has been vacant for a long time and breathing new life into it. The East End will have a new place to meet, eat, and drink.”
